Lara's Healthy Chocolate Protein Bliss Balls

Hi PPF Fam! I'm Lara from Lala's Plate, and today I'm sharing my most popular Bliss Ball recipe.

Bliss Balls are one of my favourite healthy snacks! They're super easy to whip up and are packed with tons of healthy fats, dietary fibre, and plant protein these are well and truly a snack with benefits! This recipe is perfect as a post-workout treat after a Pilates session, for the kids school lunchboxes or as an afternoon pick-me-up before dinner when you're craving a healthy, delicious treat.

These protein balls have a plant protein added (made from pea and brown rice plant protein), meaning they provide all the essential amino acids, as well as other gut-loving ingredients!

This recipe is made with peanut butter, but you can easily substitute another pure natural nut butter if peanut butter isn't for you!

Enjoy lovelies xx Lara

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Almond Meal
  • 1/3 Cup Buckwheat Flour
  • 2 Tbsp Chocolate Plant Protein Powder (I Recommend Nutra Organics, Tropeaka Or Braw Naturals)
  • 1/3 Cup Natural Peanut Butter (I Like Crunchy)
  • 1 Tbsp Shredded Coconut
  • 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 1 Tsp Maca Powder
  • 1 Tsp Collagen Powder
  • 1 ½ Tbsp Pure Maple Syrup
  • 4 ½ Tbsp Water

Method

  • In a medium sized bowl add almond meal, buckwheat flour, chocolate protein powder and peanut butter. Mix well with a wooden spoon and massage with fingertips until breadcrumbs form.
  • Add in shredded coconut, chia seeds, maca powder, collagen powder, maple syrup and water. Knead together using hands until a sticky dough is formed.
  • Evenly divide your dough into 12 evenly sized portions and roll into tight balls. Store in an airtight container in the fridge, they should last for up to 7 days, or you can store in freezer for up to 3 months (hehe but good luck keeping these around for that long!)

*notes   could roll in shredded coconut if you wish, you may need to add ½ tbsp or more water if a dough doesn't form.
