These homemade bounty bars have the chewy coconut-chocolate goodness of the original bar, using only 5 ingredients that you likely already have in your pantry. They're super easy to whip up, and so addictive that you might even want to make a double batch!
Makes: 6 bars
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Setting Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Ingredients:
1 cup desiccated coconut
¼ cup thick coconut cream
2 tbsp pure maple syrup
½ tsp vanilla extract
150g dark chocolate
Pinch of salt
Method:
1. In a bowl, combine the desiccated coconut, coconut cream, maple syrup, vanilla and salt. Mix until the coconut is evenly coated and the mixture holds together when pressed. If needed, add an extra teaspoon of coconut cream or a little more desiccated coconut to reach the right consistency!
2. Divide the mixture into 6 portions and shape into small bars. Press firmly so they don't crumble.
3. Place on a lined tray and freeze for up to 1 hour or until firm.
4. Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring between each, or over a bowl of simmering water. Dip each bar into the chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off before placing back onto the lined tray. Drizzle remaining chocolate over the top and sprinkle sea salt flakes over top.
5. Refrigerate for 10–15 minutes, or until the chocolate has completely set.
